Share the Dignity

Share the Dignity is a women’s charity dedicated to making a difference for women experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or doing it tough. Share the Dignity believes that managing menstruation should be the last concern for women and girls in tough situations, which is why they distribute period products to those in need. Each year, Share the Dignity hosts hundreds of thousands of period product collection drives which the team at Merthyr Law actively take part in as often as they can. With the support Share the Dignity has received they helped to “axe the tampon tax” in 2018 and continue to work on campaigns, to abolish the shame and stigma around periods and to make sanitary products free in public hospitals.

Each time a donation is made the donor funds are invested into research aimed at improving survival, and without all the generous donations from the community the foundation would not be where it is today. The foundation now has an incredible $133 million plan to double the survival rate of brain cancer over the next 10 years.

endED (End Eating Disorders)

Informed by the National Eating Disorder Collaboration’s ‘peer work approach’ and in accordance with the National Recovery Framework endED provides a non-clinical service advocating for self-management, empowerment and advocacy. endED began when founders Mark and Gay Forbes – whose two daughters struggled with eating disorders – started opening their home to the friends, parents and carers of those navigating the same challenges. They found that the support needed was simply unavailable. With assistance from the community, the government and Butterfly House, endED created ‘endED Butterfly House’. endED has now continued their mission and opened the House of Hope with an aim to help even more people navigating eating disorders.
